Homemade Humus


1 Cup soaked and cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans), or 1 can drained and rinsed.

1/2 a Lemon (or to taste)

1 tsp Cumin

2 Tbsp (30 mL) extra-virgin olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 Tsp each sea salt and pepper or to taste


Add beans and garlic to food processor or blender.

Add oil and 1/2 lemon.

Blend ingredients (in blender or with hand emulsion blender)

Add cumin, salt and pepper

Blend ingredients, taste and adjust seasoning and if you want more zing add extra lemon. 🙂
